Primary clients include the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), service branches of the Department of Defense (DOD), airport authorities, airport planning and engineering firms, and private companies involved with aviation systems development and integration.

The Position

ATAC has an opening for a Contracts Manager. The successful candidate will work at ATAC's Headquarters in Sunnyvale, California. The Contracts Manager is responsible for performing the full range of contract administration functions for a portfolio of contracts of diverse types, principally for US Government agency customers. This person will administer ongoing contracts as well as support new business activities by taking a leadership role in the preparation of responses to solicitations and the negotiation and definitization of resulting awards. The Contract Manager will formulate and execute business strategies to reduce risk, enhance customer satisfaction, build positive relationships, improve profitability and support the generation of business opportunities. Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation, negotiation, coordination and execution of all ATAC contracts and purchase orders.
  • Maintaining contract files; developing negotiation strategies, with a full understanding of how contract terms and conditions affect pricing and schedules.
  • Offering and developing solutions to mitigate contractual/program risks in all contractual agreements.
  • Development of contracts with a full understanding how terms and conditions affect prices and schedules.
  • Acting as the focal point of contact with customers for all contractual matters, both pre- and post-award.
  • Working closely with accounting and finance managers to ensure successful execution of all contracts.

Qualifications

ATAC is looking for a career-minded person who aspires to grow professionally and potentially advance into a senior executive contract and financial position in the company.

Required are:
  • B.S. in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Contract Administration or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of directly related contracting experience working as both a prime and subcontractor.
  • Knowledge of the FAR, FAA AMS, DFAR, and CPAF, IDIQ, and FFP type contracts.
  • Experience negotiating teaming agreements and organizational conflicts of interest.
  • Working knowledge of Intellectual Property Issues and rights, particularly with respect to software.
  • Strong analytical, communication and writing skills together with professional demeanor, mature judgment, team building, and decision making skills as the contracts manager will be communicating and working extensively both within the company and with current and potential customers.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.

Highly desired:
  • MBA and/or JD Degree or relevant additional experience.
  • Strong understanding of financial requirements, FAS, and DCAA standards, rules, and regulations.
  • Experience in accounting and understanding of GAAP principles.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to develop creative and innovative solutions to business.

In addition, the ideal candidate is a self-starter, able to work independently as well as with a team, and will be willing to participate in intense and sometimes time-sensitive RFP preparation and contract negotiation.
