Simmod PLUS!
Overview
Simmod PLUS! is a powerful, user-friendly product designed to efficiently interface with the industry standard Airport and Airspace Simulation Model, SIMMOD™. Simmod PLUS! includes the SIMMOD™ engine plus a robust set of tools to enable users to prepare required input, exercise the model, and analyze output results. ATAC has licensed and supported Simmod PLUS! for over ten years and it is the tool of choice for most professional SIMMOD™ users. Our client base includes over 80 airport planning firms, airports, ATC service providers, government research labs, and universities.
Applications
SIMMOD™ is designed to "play out" airport and airspace operations and calculate the real-world consequences of potential operating conditions, however, running the SIMMOD™ engine alone is not practical. Simmod PLUS! is the tool that lets the analyst efficiently develop the models that can address a wide range of "what if" questions related to airport and airspace capacity, delay, and efficiency, including questions associated with:
- Existing or proposed airport facilities (e.g., gates, taxiways, runways, pads)
- Airport operating alternatives (e.g., taxi patterns, runway use, departure queuing)
- Existing or proposed airspace structures (e.g., routes, procedures, sectors)
- Air traffic management/control technologies, procedures, and policies
- Aircraft separation standards parameters (e.g., weather, aircraft type, flight state)
- Airline operations (e.g., flight schedule, banking, gate use and service times)
- Current and future traffic demand (e.g., volume, aircraft mix, new aircraft types)
