The Position
ATAC has an opening for an Aviation Data Analyst. This is a full-time position and will be located in the Atlanta, GA area. The successful candidate will participate in aviation operations analyses utilizing various data analysis tools and techniques. The successful candidate will work with a team consisting of FAA/government officials and other contractors supporting numerous aviation data projects across the Eastern part of the United States.
Responsibilities will include:
- Quantitative and qualitative air traffic performance data analyses
- Aviation flight track and operational data verification and validation
- Noise and related environmental analyses for airports, airspace procedures, and airspace changes
- Technical and management presentations and technical report writing
- Data visualization
- Other responsibilities as directed

Qualifications
ATAC is looking for career-minded people with the potential to grow professionally and advance into positions of greater technical and project management responsibility.
Required attributes include:
- A BS degree in engineering, operations research, applied mathematics, statistics, physics or related field
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with Office tools such as Excel, and scientific programming/scripting using VB/VBA
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal relations skills
- Ability to work alone and/or with a team
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency
Desired attributes include:
- Experience in the aviation industry, and performing detailed analyses with aviation data sets and custom tools
- Familiarity with the National Airspace System
- Self-starter that can work effectively in both a remote and on-site environment

The Position
ATAC has an opening for an Aviation Computer Programmer. This is a full-time mid-level staff position and is located at ATAC’s office in Arlington, VA, or Atlantic City, NJ. The successful candidate will participate in the development of fast-time simulation software for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Responsibilities will include:
- Working as part of a team to build fast-time simulation software that model aircraft traffic in the National Airspace System (NAS)
- Devising algorithms and source code that provide simulation software functionality
- Creating user interfaces
- Documenting code/processes
- Performing testing, validation, and verification of software features
- Providing user support and training

Qualifications

The Position
ATAC has an opening for an IT Support Technician Summer Intern. This is a paid internship for the duration of the summer of 2023 and will be located on-site at the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA’s) William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated member of ATAC’s WJHTC team and will support various research efforts including aviation safety research.
Responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing flight and simulator video data and marking it at pre-developed safety events
- Downloading and copying data from test activities
- Quantitative and qualitative data analysis including reviewing, classifying, and categorizing flight and simulation data
- Supporting the development of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and other related graphics
- Supporting the development of websites and other project materials.
- Supporting the development of test scenarios
- Developing models and analytical tools using big data and high-performance computing tools
A background check will be required for this position.
Qualifications
